Need a last minute gift idea for mom or still need to add something to your own wish list? Many women are struggling with stress, anxiety and depression all while parenting so consider caring for your mom’s or your own mental health by giving or asking for the gift of time and space. Here are some potential ways to use that extra time and space to recharge.
🦋 Practice grounding- do something to get present focused. My personal favorite is the 5-4-3-2-1 exercise. Name 5 things around you that you can see, 4 things you can physically feel, 3 things you can hear, 2 things you can smell and 1 thing you are grateful for. Bonus points for heading to a favorite location to complete the exercise
🦋 Take an actual break from the parenting responsibilities- no decisions to be made, nothing to prepare, nothing to plan, trust your carefully selected caregiver to do just that
🦋 Talk to someone- other moms, a therapist, a close friend or family member. Feeling validated and normalizing your struggles can go a long way to making you feel supported
